Nayyi Navelli: Rs 24.68 cr worldwide after 64.2% Tuesday jump

Yami Gautam's Nayyi Navelli recovered on its first Tuesday, jumping 64.2% from Monday; worldwide gross now Rs 24.68 crore after five days.

Nayyi Navelli: Rs 24.68 cr worldwide

Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli steadied on its first Tuesday, climbing back toward its earlier weekend pace rather than settling into a routine weekday slide. The Hindi film collected Rs 4.35 crore net in India on October 20, a 64.2% jump over Monday’s Rs 2.65 crore, according to Sacnilk data. After five days, the film’s India net stands at Rs 18.65 crore, and worldwide gross has climbed to Rs 24.68 crore.

A first-Tuesday recovery

The day-wise trend shows a film that dipped and then recovered quickly.

  • Day 1 (Friday): Rs 3.25 crore
  • Day 2 (Saturday): Rs 4 crore
  • Day 3 (Sunday): Rs 4.40 crore
  • Day 4 (Monday): Rs 2.65 crore
  • Day 5 (Tuesday): Rs 4.35 crore

Sunday remains the highest single day so far, but Tuesday came within Rs 0.05 crore of that weekend peak. The Monday-to-Tuesday swing is the more important number for exhibitors, because it suggests the fall was not the start of a continuing slide.

Where the audience turned up

Occupancy on Tuesday was a modest 28.33% overall, but the internal pattern was uneven. Evening shows led with 37.54%, followed by afternoon screenings at 33.77%. Night shows recorded 29.08%, while morning shows lagged at 9.08%. The film drew 214,527 footfalls on its fifth day, taking the cumulative count to 895,551.

That afternoon-and-evening concentration matters for a title of this size. It signals that Nayyi Navelli is being chosen in the post-lunch and post-work windows where a modest release can still add meaningful ticket sales.

Why the hold matters

For a mid-sized Hindi release, the first Tuesday is an early test of word of mouth. Monday’s fall was expected, but a 64.2% Tuesday rebound gives the film a chance to hold screens into its second week. Its India gross currently stands at Rs 22.18 crore, with Rs 2.50 crore from overseas markets.

Directed by Balaji Mohan, the supernatural family drama stars Yami Gautam alongside Aaditya Kulshreshth, Sonal Jha and Rajesh Dubeay. Its conflict rests on whether the seemingly ideal daughter-in-law in a Meerut household is hiding something sinister. The genre mix gives it a clear hook for the week ahead, but the box office now depends on whether weekday audiences keep responding after the weekend.
