Drishyam 3 day 30 India: Rs 375.60 cr, twice Drishyam 2

Day 30 added Rs 1.60 crore net, pushing the India total to Rs 375.60 crore and widening the gap over Drishyam 2's comparable Rs 218.79 crore.

Drishyam 3 day 30 India: Rs 375.60 cr

After a month in cinemas, Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is no longer merely ahead of its predecessor; it is closing in on double the domestic total the previous film managed at the same point in its run.

Day 30 in numbers

The Ajay Devgn-starrer added Rs 1.60 crore net in India on Saturday, October 31, a 60% increase over the Rs 1 crore it collected the previous day, according to Sacnilk data cited by the trade. That late-week bump takes the film’s domestic net total to Rs 375.60 crore and its India gross to Rs 449.84 crore.

Overseas, the day contributed Rs 25 lakh, moving the international gross to Rs 132.55 crore. The worldwide gross now stands at Rs 582.39 crore.

The film held 3,030 shows on Saturday and sold an estimated 79,067 tickets, taking cumulative ticket sales to 1,63,11,873. The Hindi 2D version’s occupancy also improved through the day, from 8.83% in the morning to 17.42% in the afternoon, 19.83% in the evening and 20.67% at night.

The Drishyam 2 comparison

At the same 30-day mark, Drishyam 2 had collected Rs 218.79 crore net in India. The third film’s Rs 375.60 crore is therefore nearly twice that figure, a sharp expansion for a franchise that was already a proven draw.

This is the comparison that now matters for the property. The second film set a benchmark in its time; the third instalment has turned the previous entry into the yardstick against which its own success is measured, rather than the opening weekend alone.

What the weekly trend shows

  • Week 1: Rs 245.50 crore net, Rs 294.60 crore gross
  • Week 2: Rs 87.50 crore net, down 64.4%
  • Week 3: Rs 28.85 crore net, down 67%
  • Week 4: Rs 11.15 crore net, down 61.4%

The first two days of the fifth week have added Rs 2.60 crore net and Rs 3.12 crore gross. The declines are steep, but they are falling from an unusually high first-week base, and Saturday’s 60% lift over Friday shows that weekend audiences still turn up in material numbers.

Why the story still has pull

The film returns to Vijay Salgaonkar years after he evaded the law. Meera Deshmukh comes back with a different motive—revenge rather than justice—and a Crime Branch officer tests his alibis. That psychological, conversation-driven hook suits a slower tail, where viewers recommend the film after the initial spectacle has faded.

For Hindi cinema watchers, the run is a reminder that franchise value is built over instalments. The relevant headline is not only that Drishyam 3 is earning; it is that it has reset the ceiling for its own series.
