Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu, two voices that defined Hindi film playback in the 1990s, are back on a track together after 21 years. The song is “Suniyo Zara,” the first release from the Sunny Deol-Ravi Kishan film Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak.
Presented by Zee Music Company with lyrics by Priya Saraiya, the track also features singer Anupam Amod. It is built around friendship, memory and the bond between two people over time. The announcement does not treat the song as a routine drop; it positions the reunion itself as the headline.
A reunion with a ready-made context
For listeners who grew up on the 1990s playback duet, the pairing of Narayan and Sanu is shorthand for a specific sound: two distinctive textures trading lines in a melody designed for radio, television and, later, streaming playlists. Udit Narayan said the studio session brought back an earlier phase of his career.
“Singing with Kumar Sanu again after so many years felt like reliving a beautiful chapter of my career. With Anupam joining us, the energy was fresh yet familiar, and I believe listeners will feel that bond in every note.”
Kumar Sanu put the emphasis on the song’s theme rather than the gap. “This song is special because it’s not just about music — it’s about friendship, memories, and the joy of coming together,” he said. “I’m glad we could give audiences something heartfelt and timeless.” Anupam Amod said being part of the collaboration was an honour and described “Suniyo Zara” as carrying “emotions of companionship and journey.”
What the first song is doing for the film
The video follows Sunny Deol and Ravi Kishan travelling together, with the visuals centred on their characters’ friendship and shared memories. That makes the track work on two levels: it introduces the film’s musical world and establishes the emotional register of the central relationship before the theatrical release.
- The pairing: Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu reunite after a reported 21-year break.
- The addition: Anupam Amod completes the vocal trio on “Suniyo Zara.”
- The rollout: The song opens the musical campaign ahead of the film’s 20 November 2026 release.
Legacy voices as a launch strategy
A reunion after two decades gives the soundtrack a news angle that a standard friendship track would not have. It invites the audience to compare the new material with a remembered sound, and it gives broadcasters, streamers and social platforms a reason to cover the song beyond the film’s cast. The 21-year figure is the hook: audiences are not just being asked to hear a song, but to notice that a particular era of playback is being revived.
Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak is presented by Kamal Mukut and produced by Deepak Mukut, Hemmant Mukut and Lokesh Mukut, and directed by M. Padmakumar. With the release date set for 20 November 2026, “Suniyo Zara” is the first test of the film’s musical identity and the clearest sign yet of how the campaign wants audiences to feel.
