Kajol Devgn is an Indian cinema actress who goes by the mononym, Kajol. She has been dubbed one of the most successful actresses in Hindi cinema history by the media, and she has received multiple prizes, including six Filmfare Awards, including the record for most Best Actress awards formerly held by her aunt Nutan. The Government of India awarded her the Padma Shri, the country’s fourth-highest civilian honor, in 2011. Her height is 5 feet 3 inches.
Kajol Mukherjee, the daughter of Tanuja and Shomu Mukherjee, made her acting debut while still in school with Bekhudi (1992). She dropped out of school and got her first commercial hit with Baazigar (1993), in which she starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
Following her breakout performance in Yeh Dillagi (1994), she starred alongside Khan in numerous blockbusters, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), for which she won two Filmfare Awards for Best Actress.
Even though her career was bolstered by financially lucrative family dramas during this time, her portrayals of a psychotic killer in Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997) and an avenger in Dushman (1998) gained her greater critical acclaim.
Kajol took a break from full-time acting after shooting Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001, which earned her a third Filmfare Award, and continued to perform sparingly for the next two decades.
