‘Hiccups and Hookups’ is Lionsgate Play’s First Indian original show’s title. The title and host of characters were introduced to the viewers by Rajkummar Rao in a new video. Recently, the video hit the airwaves and viewers are wondering why Raj Kumar Rao?
In fact, there is no better way to give a sneak peek of the new Rao family in town. An established and popular Rao like Rajkumar took the responsibility of introducing the Hiccups and Hookups characters. Therefore, Raj Kumar has taken upon himself to present the spunky and bold members of this new household.
In the innovative video, Raj Kumar is clearly seen calling the new Rao’s in town ‘shocking and not rocking’. He refers to Lara Dutta’s character as a ‘modern stree’ who is confused about her dating options. Prateik Babbar is introduced as the guy who considers himself to be the ‘Newton of Relationships’.
Additionally, Prateik believes dating is a game of Snakes and Ladders. Shinnova plays the teenage daughter of Lara Dutta’s character in the show. According to Rajkummar, Shinnova considers herself the ‘Queen of Relationships.’ But eventually, she ends up getting caught in situations that go against her.

Talking about his association, Rajkummar Rao says, “All three characters of Hiccups and Hookups that I introduce have a mind of their own. They all are full of sass combined with a lot of spunk. They have been on my mind as they go about living their life to the fullest. And yes, it looks like, it’s time for a Rao like me to ‘Ghabrao’. Because this new set of Raos is clearly going to keep me on my toes with their adventures.”
Furthermore, Rajkummar Rao states that his carefully constructed reputation of a decade is under threat. Therefore, it’s time for the viewers to get ready to meet the members of the new show Hiccups and Hookups. Since they are a family with no boundaries. they are all set to change the concept of viewers. In addition to portraying the concept of the modern family, they are also going to redefine it.
Nonetheless, Hiccups and Hookups is set in an urban context. It is directed by Kunal Kohli of “Hum Tum” and “Fanaa” fame. Additionally, it is India’s first bold and progressive show.
