Sadak 2 is a Hindi-language action thriller road film directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Mukesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films in 2020. The film is a sequel to Sadak, which was released in 1991.
Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Jisshu Sengupta, and Aditya Roy Kapur star in the sequel. Mahesh Bhatt makes his directorial debut after a 20-year hiatus. The tale takes place twenty-nine years after the events of the last film.
Due to the vote to the brigade by internet users opposing nepotism in the Indian film business, the film’s trailer was uploaded on YouTube on August 12, 2020, and within a week, it had become the second most-disliked video and the most-disliked film teaser/trailer on the platform.
Sadak 2 was released on the Disney+ Hotstar streaming platform on August 28, 2020. The film received widespread acclaim from critics, who criticized it for its acting, storyline, dialogue, and usage of tropes.
After its major actors, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt met Mukesh Bhatt through the Vishesh Films office in April 2017, media reports about a sequel to the 1991 film Sadak arose. According to the source, although being a continuation of the original, it would have a distinct plot, and the script will be a remake of the Tamil film Mahanadhi (1994), directed by Srijit Mukherji. Despite its initial announcement, however, no new information about the film has surfaced.
