Jailer 2 Hindi Scores 68% Profit in 15 Days at India Box Office

Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 Hindi version collected Rs 43.8 crore net in India in 15 days, a 68.46% profit over its Rs 26 crore break-even target.

Jailer 2 Hindi Posts 68% Profit in 15 Days

The Hindi-dubbed version of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has turned a modest expectation in the Hindi market into a clear commercial result. After 15 days in cinemas, the film has recovered its Hindi break-even figure and moved into profit, according to trade figures compiled by Koimoi.

Day 15 and the running total

On its third Thursday, the film added Rs 1.1 crore net, a 12% dip from the previous day’s Rs 1.25 crore. That represented a steady hold rather than a sharp decline. The eight-day first week had collected Rs 30.65 crore net; week two contributed Rs 13.15 crore, a 57.1% drop from that extended opening week.

After 15 days, the Hindi version stands at Rs 43.8 crore net, or Rs 51.68 crore gross. Measured against its break-even target, the arithmetic is the headline:

  • Break-even target: Rs 26 crore net
  • India net collection: Rs 43.8 crore
  • Profit: Rs 17.8 crore
  • Profit margin: 68.46%
  • Verdict under trade parameters: Plus

What a hit verdict would require

To move from a plus classification to a hit, the Hindi version must reach Rs 52 crore net. With six days to go before the release of Ramayana, the trade report notes there is a plausible window for the film to close the gap. Much will depend on whether the current hold carries into the coming weekend.

Jailer 2 is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures. The cast includes SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Ramya Krishnan, and Vidya Balan. The film released on October 15, 2026.

Why this matters for Hindi film watchers

The Hindi versions of Tamil films can be erratic: they sometimes open strongly on star power and then fade quickly. A 57.1% second-week decline is not soft for this category; many dubbed versions fall harder after an extended first week. Jailer 2 adding Rs 13.15 crore in its second week and earning a plus verdict by day 15 is a marker of genuine crossover appeal. Koimoi describes it as one of the most successful Kollywood titles in Hindi in recent years.

For audiences who follow the economics of dubbed releases, the return is a benchmark rather than simply a collection update. Dubbed versions are often treated as secondary windows; when one clears its Hindi distribution cost early and continues to add in its second week, it signals that demand is broad enough to extend beyond the core Rajinikanth base.

That also sharpens the next test. Moving from plus to hit is not only a label; it will shape how this release is remembered in trade records and how comparable dubbed titles are assessed in the Hindi market going forward.
