Sixty-seven days after it opened, Hanuman Ansh is still adding to its theatrical run. The devotional drama collected an estimated Rs 1.11 crore on Monday, October 12, according to Sacnilk, taking its worldwide gross to Rs 435.37 crore.
The India net now stands at Rs 335.59 crore, with domestic gross at Rs 396.23 crore. Released in Indian theatres on August 7, the Vishal Chaturvedi-directed film has become an unexpected box-office story after a modest opening.
A box-office curve that started from almost nothing
The weekly numbers show how sharply the film’s fortunes changed after the first fortnight:
- Week 1: Rs 1.08 crore
- Week 2: Rs 40 lakh
- Week 3: Rs 10.40 crore
- Week 4: Rs 61 crore
- Week 5: Rs 90.25 crore
- Week 6: Rs 80.25 crore
- Week 7: Rs 44.80 crore
- Week 8: Rs 29.20 crore
- Week 9: Rs 10.60 crore
Hanuman Ansh recorded its strongest weekly collections in weeks five and six, not during the opening period. That is a reversal of the usual front-loaded pattern and a sign that audiences kept discovering the film in theatres long after the first reviews.
Why this run matters for Hindi cinema
Devotional subjects have a record of finding a wider audience, but this film’s staying power is notable. Hanuman Ansh explores the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj-ji, whom followers revere as an incarnation of Lord Hanuman.
For an industry that often measures success by opening-day velocity, the long tail here is a useful counterpoint. A first week of Rs 1.08 crore did not predict a Rs 435.37 crore worldwide total; word of mouth and sustained theatrical presence did the work.
A young producer earns public praise
Actor Sanjay Dutt praised 21-year-old producer Anupriya Nagar for the film’s run. He shared a photograph with Nagar on Instagram on Monday and wrote that “what you’ve achieved for Hanuman Ansh at just 21 is truly remarkable.” Dutt said he intends to support her future projects.
The estimates come from Sacnilk and remain approximate, compiled from public and industry sources; final totals may change as official studio data is updated or as international market reports are finalised. With ninth-week collections still estimated at Rs 10.60 crore, the film is no longer at its peak, but it is still occupying screens and still adding to an already improbable total.
