Eight days into its run, Ayushmann Khurrana’s spy comedy Udta Teer is still waiting for its final Day 8 number. Sacnilk’s live tracker began the day with a negligible count of ₹0.00 crore net from eight shows, with India net at ₹31.25 crore and gross at ₹37.28 crore so far.
The Day 8 snapshot
These numbers are a running estimate, not a closing figure. The tracked shows represent early reports, and the final Day 8 collection will be updated after night shows are counted. What the snapshot gives us is the base from which the film’s second week is building.
- Day 8 running count: ₹0.00 crore net from eight shows; final count due later tonight.
- Total so far: ₹31.25 crore India net and ₹37.28 crore India gross.
- Day 9 advance: 65,064 tickets worth ₹1.78 crore by 7:00 am IST on October 30.
- Opening context: ₹4.10 crore on October 23, about 83% below Thamma‘s ₹24 crore opener.
Why the opening matters
Udta Teer, directed by Aakash Kaushik and backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment, opened at ₹4.10 crore India net. That ranks eighth among Ayushmann’s opening-day collections and leaves it outside his career top five. It is a sharp fall from the actor’s biggest Day 1, Thamma, which collected ₹24 crore net in 2025.
The soft start is notable because the release had scale: 6,265 shows, a lead pair of Ayushmann and Sara Ali Khan, and a supporting cast that includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor and Gulshan Grover. The premise — a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and starts believing he is an Indian counter-terrorism officer — is built for comic confusion, but the initial audience pull did not match the screen count.
What to watch next
The central question is whether word of mouth can hold the film into its second weekend. The Day 9 advance has already sold 65,064 tickets worth ₹1.78 crore, so there is still some booking intent. But for a film that began with muted demand, the second-weekend hold matters more than any single morning number.
