Udta Teer becomes Ayushmann Khurrana's fifth-highest post-Covid release after crossing Rs 28.82 crore net in six days, passing Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.

Udta Teer becomes Ayushmann's 5th post-Covid hit at Rs 28.82 cr

Produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain under the Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment banners, Udta Teer stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan. Six days in, it has crossed Rs 28.82 crore net, making it Khurrana’s fifth-highest domestic grosser after Covid. Directed by Aakash Kaushik, the film also features Mukul Dev, Gulshan Grover, Ram Kapoor and Rahul Bose in supporting roles.

The six-day curve

The film recovered strongly after a Rs 4.10 crore opening, reaching Sunday at Rs 8.21 crore. Weekdays have been steady rather than spectacular: Rs 3.21 crore on Monday, Rs 3.40 crore on Tuesday and Rs 2.65 crore on Wednesday. Wednesday’s figure is a 22.06% drop from Tuesday, slightly sharper than the usual midweek fall, but it leaves the film at Rs 28.82 crore net, or Rs 34.02 crore gross.

  • Day 1: Rs 4.10 crore
  • Day 2: Rs 7.25 crore
  • Day 3: Rs 8.21 crore
  • Day 4: Rs 3.21 crore
  • Day 5: Rs 3.40 crore
  • Day 6: Rs 2.65 crore
  • Total: Rs 28.82 crore net

Where it sits in the actor’s recent record

The six-day total has carried the film past Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (Rs 28.5 crore net). It is likely to overtake Doctor G (Rs 30 crore) on day seven. The next benchmarks are Pati Patni Aur Woh Do (Rs 59.29 crore), Dream Girl 2 (Rs 105 crore) and Thamma (Rs 157.05 crore).

The post-Covid bracket is now a useful yardstick for Hindi film actors. It removes the pre-2020 release environment and measures who has been able to pull audiences under the current calendar, ticket pricing and competition. Khurrana’s post-Covid list also shows the gap between his biggest commercial vehicles and his smaller films, and Udta Teer‘s job is to close some of that distance before the big-ticket Ramayana arrives.

The test ahead

With Ramayana still seven days away, Udta Teer has room to keep accumulating. The road to Rs 50 crore net depends on the second-weekend hold, particularly among family audiences. If the film clears Doctor G on Thursday and then holds flat or nearly flat over the weekend, it will enter the following week as a credible mid-range success.
