Udta Teer Grosses 55.03 Cr In 9 Days; Ayushmann’s 5th 50-Cr Hit

Udta Teer earned ₹55.03 crore worldwide in nine days, becoming Ayushmann Khurrana's fifth post-Covid release to cross the 50-crore mark.

Udta Teer: ₹55.03 crore worldwide in 9 days

Udta Teer has turned a healthy opening week into a milestone. By the end of its second Saturday, the film had crossed ₹55 crore in worldwide gross, making it Ayushmann Khurrana’s fifth post-pandemic release to pass the 50-crore mark.

Where the nine-day total stands

The film added ₹5.47 crore gross on day nine, according to trade figures cited by Koimoi. India contributed ₹4.72 crore and international markets added ₹75 lakh. The nine-day worldwide total now stands at ₹55.03 crore gross.

  • India net: ₹37.73 crore
  • India gross: ₹44.53 crore
  • Overseas gross: ₹10.5 crore
  • Worldwide gross: ₹55.03 crore

The second-Saturday lift

The day-nine numbers show a domestic-led profile. India gross accounts for ₹44.53 crore of the ₹55.03 crore total, while overseas contributed ₹10.5 crore. The ₹75 lakh overseas addition on Saturday is small; the engine is clearly the domestic family audience, which returned after the opening week.

Why the milestone matters for Khurrana

The number recasts the actor’s post-COVID record. Udta Teer passes Doctor G, which finished with ₹46.4 crore, to become Khurrana’s fifth-highest grosser since the pandemic. Above it sit Thamma at ₹211.81 crore, Dream Girl 2 at ₹140.1 crore, and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do at ₹77.81 crore. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, An Action Hero and Anek are below.

Khurrana’s post-COVID list is instructive. Only Thamma and Dream Girl 2 are breakout successes; the gap between those and the rest of the list is wide. Udta Teer sits in the middle tier, which is why the next few days matter more than the eventual final number: a clean hold through Thursday would confirm the film’s theatrical legs, while a sharp fall would say more about the calendar than about the film.

That placement matters because it shows a mid-sized family entertainer can still hold theatre space in a market where only event films consistently over-perform. For an actor whose post-COVID line-up has had uneven results, a ninth-day 50-crore milestone is a small but meaningful signal that audiences are still willing to show up when the packaging feels familiar and accessible.

The post-COVID yardstick is now the industry default because the theatrical market reset after 2020. For a non-event Hindi film, crossing ₹50 crore worldwide is a meaningful line: it signals that family audiences are returning to cinemas rather than waiting for streaming. Udta Teer has not matched Khurrana’s biggest post-COVID numbers, but it has cleared the threshold with time to add a little more before Ramayana arrives.

What to watch before Thursday

Udta Teer is directed by Aakash Kaushik and produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain under the Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment banners. The ensemble includes Mukul Dev, Gulshan Grover, Ram Kapoor and Rahul Bose.

For viewers, the window is narrowing. Ramayana opens on Thursday, November 5, and is expected to absorb screens quickly. Koimoi reports that Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’s ₹77.81 crore is likely out of reach, which means Udta Teer will probably consolidate around its current position rather than chase the next rung.
