Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have started a fundraising campaign for India’s Coronavirus relief. The duo conducted in collaboration with Ketto initiated a campaign called In This Together, which has set a target of raising a total of Rs 7 crore.
Anushka took to his Instagram and shared about the collection. She said, “A big thank you to all the people who helped us reach this mile stone”.
The actress penned a heartfelt note for all the healthcare and frontline workers. She said, “We’d like to say a big thank you to all our healthcare and frontline workers, their dedication is truly inspiring.” The actress further added, “You continue to risk your lives for the nation, and for that, we are eternally grateful to you. You are the real heroes, for Virat and I, and for the nation.”
Anushka and Virat have contributed Rs 2 crore of the total funds raised. The donations description on the fundraiser site, aims at tackling ‘the immediate shortage of oxygen supply on a war footing.’ The funds will ‘support the deployment of oxygen solutions, including concentrators and oxygen plants to hospitals across India, and also look at the home care and help scale India’s vaccination efforts.
The campaign was for 7 days on Ketto, the proceeds of which will go to ACT Grants, the implementation partner which will work towards providing oxygen, vaccination awareness, medical manpower, and telemedicine facilities throughout the novel pandemic and the amount.
