Twelve days into its theatrical run, Yami Gautam’s horror comedy Nayyi Navelli has crossed the Rs 33-crore mark at the worldwide box office, even as its daily pace settles into a familiar second-week rhythm.
The film added Rs 35 lakh in India on Tuesday, October 27, unchanged from Monday, taking its India net collection to Rs 25.30 cr. India gross stands at Rs 30.02 cr and overseas at Rs 3.20 cr, for a worldwide gross of Rs 33.22 cr. Day 12 also brought about Rs 5 lakh from overseas, with 30,079 tickets sold across 1,291 shows, according to Sacnilk data cited by The Times of India.
The week-one cushion
The numbers make one thing plain: the opening week is doing most of the work. Of the Rs 25.30 cr India net, Rs 22.15 cr came in the first seven days. The run peaked early—Rs 4.40 cr on the first Sunday and Rs 4.35 cr on the following Tuesday, a mid-week figure that nearly matched the weekend high.
That Day 5 Tuesday alone is larger than the entire second week so far. Across Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of week two, the film has added roughly Rs 3.15 cr. Week two opened at Rs 60 lakh on Friday, improved to Rs 90 lakh and Rs 95 lakh over the weekend, then fell to Rs 35 lakh on Monday and held there on Tuesday.
What the day-12 print shows
- Day 12 India net: Rs 35 lakh—flat with Monday
- Cumulative worldwide gross: Rs 33.22 cr
- Footfall: 30,079 tickets on Tuesday; 12.61 lakh total
- Shows: 1,291 on Tuesday, down from 6,281 on day one
Occupancy tells the same story. Hindi 2D screenings recorded 13.28% overall on day 12—5.92% in the morning, 12.46% in the afternoon, 11.38% in the evening and 21.31% at night. The late-show strength is the film’s most dependable asset now, consistent with a horror comedy whose audience skews towards evening walk-ins rather than family matinees.
What Wednesday suggests
Advance bookings for Wednesday, October 28, had reached 16,270 tickets across 1,386 shows by 5 am, worth Rs 35.85 lakh in gross revenue. That is enough to suggest the weekday floor is holding near the Rs 35-lakh mark, but not enough to signal a second-weekend-style rebound.
Nayyi Navelli, written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma and directed by Balaji Mohan in his Hindi-film debut, follows a bride whose arrival appears to bring fortune to a Meerut household, until her brother-in-law begins to suspect something supernatural. It opened on October 16.
For readers who follow the trade, the lesson is familiar: an opening week can buy a film its running room, but the second-week hold decides how much farther it actually travels. The box-office figures are compiled from public and industry sources and remain approximate until official studio data is finalised.
