Hanuman Ansh, the devotional drama starring Shobhinaw Satyaa, has set its digital premiere: the film will stream on SonyLIV from November 27, 2026. The date comes after a theatrical run that made the title one of 2026’s most unlikely box-office successes.
Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film is based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba. It opens with Lakshmi Narayan Sharma, a young boy whose life changes after a personal tragedy in the early 20th century, then follows his turn towards spirituality, self-discovery and devotion to Lord Hanuman. Faith, compassion, sacrifice and service without expectation sit at the centre of the telling.
Box office context
Hanuman Ansh was reportedly produced for just Rs 2 crore. After its August 7 theatrical release, it collected roughly Rs 453.67 crore worldwide, according to the figures cited by News18. By that arithmetic, the worldwide gross is more than 225 times the reported budget—a rare scale for a devotional drama with no blockbuster-sized spend behind it.
India contributed about Rs 343.11 crore net. The Hindi version led with approximately Rs 336.83 crore, while the Telugu version added around Rs 5.91 crore. Overseas collections were estimated at Rs 48.70 crore, or about USD 5.4 million.

Why the digital premiere matters
The film’s scale is notable because it did not lean on a costly cast or a familiar spectacle formula. It drew its audience through a culturally rooted devotional story, and its Hindi version carried almost the entire domestic run. That is not the usual route to a Rs 450-crore-plus result in Hindi cinema.
For our readers, the SonyLIV window offers a simple path to a film many missed. For the industry, it sets up a second test: whether a faith-led title can hold attention on streaming after its big-screen momentum, especially with family viewing at home.
What to watch for
The November 27 slot positions Hanuman Ansh as a digital event after the festive calendar rather than an afterthought. Its themes—devotion, compassion, selflessness—are well suited to repeat family viewing, which may give the film a long tail on a streaming service.
For viewers, the immediate takeaway is concrete: if you missed the theatrical run, SonyLIV is the destination. For the trade, the more interesting number will be whether Hanuman Ansh’s second life on OTT matches the size of its first one.
