October actress Banita Sandhu is currently in Kolkata to shoot for a project, Kavita and Teresa. According to reports, during the shooting, the actress tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to a private hospital as she refused treatment at a government hospital.
Reportedly, the actress arrived in India on 20 December and was on the same flight with a man who tested positive for the new strain of coronovirus while traveling from the United Kingdom. On Monday, the actress tested positive for COVID-19 and was taken to the Beliaghata Infectious Disease Hospital where new stress treatment is set up. But, according to reports, the 23-year-old actress refused to come out of the ambulance and cited the lack of infrastructure as the reason.
“We had to inform the state secretariat and the health department as she was not ready to come out of the ambulance and at one point of time, she wanted to leave. The British High Commission was informed as we cannot let it go in a manner which is against the protocol. We also had to inform the police. According to Hindustan Times, they (police personnel) surrounded the ambulance so that it could not go out.
After getting permission from the health department, he was taken to a private hospital, where he is now kept in an isolation cabin. Before leaving Beliaghat Infectious Disease Hospital she was also asked to sign a declaration that she was not ready to be admitted due to lack of basic facilities.
