Accepted is a comedy movie directed by Steve Pink and written by Adam Cooper, Bill Collage, and Mark Perez that was released in 2006. After being denied by the universities to which they applied, a group of high school grads decides to start their own bogus institution. The novel is set in Wickliffe and Harmon, a fictional college town in Ohio. Filming took place at Chapman University in Los Angeles and Orange, California.
The picture debuted at No. 5 at the box office in the United States, behind Snakes on a Plane, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’s third weekend, World Trade Center’s second weekend, and Step Up’s second. On November 14, 2006, the movie was released on DVD in both widescreen and fullscreen versions. Deleted scenes and a gag reel were included on the DVD. Accepted was also one of the last films to be released on the HD DVD format before it was phased out. On January 19, 2021, Mill Creek Entertainment released the film on Blu-ray for the first time.
