Drishyam 3 tops ₹587.95 crore worldwide in 30 days

Ajay Devgn's crime thriller ends its first month at ₹587.95 crore worldwide against a ₹110 crore budget, a 241.82% return and a super-duper-hit verdict.

Drishyam 3: ₹587.95 crore worldwide after 30 days

Ajay Devgn’s crime thriller Drishyam 3 has completed a month in theatres with a worldwide gross of ₹587.95 crore. It is a strong result on a controlled budget, even though the film will finish short of the ₹600-crore mark that its opening weekend seemed to promise.

The 30-day split

By day 30, the film had collected ₹376 crore net in India. That converts to ₹443.71 crore gross in the domestic market. Overseas collections added ₹144.24 crore, taking the worldwide gross to ₹587.95 crore.

  • India net: ₹376 crore
  • India gross: ₹443.71 crore
  • Overseas gross: ₹144.24 crore
  • Worldwide gross: ₹587.95 crore

Drishyam 3 opened with ₹93 crore gross, and early reactions had led trade watchers to expect a full-run total of ₹650 crore to ₹700 crore. Daily numbers have now slowed, but the film is still adding a modest amount as it heads into the final stretch of its run.

Why the ROI matters more than the milestone

The film was reportedly made on a budget of ₹110 crore. Against that cost, the ₹376 crore Indian net total means Drishyam 3 has already returned ₹266 crore. Calculated another way, that is a 241.82% return on investment, which places the film in the ‘super duper hit’ category under Koimoi’s box-office parameters.

For a crime thriller, those economics are the real story. The picture has more than tripled its budget on Indian net collections alone, before counting the overseas gross. A missed ₹600-crore milestone does not change that arithmetic.

Trade verdicts such as this matter because they rank films by return on investment rather than absolute collection alone. A tightly budgeted thriller can therefore post a stronger verdict than a costlier spectacle that earns more in total but returns less in percentage terms.

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 3 is produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Ajit Andhare and Alok Jain under Panorama Studios and Star Studio18. The cast includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Kamlesh Sawant, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Prakash Raj.

The closing window

The film will add a little more, but the ₹600 crore milestone now looks out of reach. The release of Ramayana on November 5 is expected to take over screens and effectively end Drishyam 3’s theatrical run.

The box-office verdict is already settled: a ₹110 crore crime thriller ending its first month at ₹587.95 crore worldwide with a 241.82% return is a success, even if it never reaches the round number that once seemed possible.
