Women, as well as men, are frequently misrepresented in films, according to Zoya Akhtar

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar has given the viewers a lot to be thankful for. Zoya Akhtar is one of the best directors in the nation now, with movies like Gully Boy and Dil Dhadakne Do, as well as music and great writing. Zoya is now working on The Archies with Reema Kagti, a long-time writing and filming collaborator. The pair has teamed together with Netflix to provide a desi take on the worldwide popular Archies characters.

Zoya spoke candidly about the significance of representation in films in a recent interview with The Hindu. Zoya Akhtar stated, “A person doesn’t feel isolated if they don’t feel alone.”

The director went on to explain how different things were back then.

Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda will feature in Zoya’s film The Archies, which will serve as a launchpad for budding star kids Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda. The first trailer for the Netflix film was published earlier this month, and it went viral. Fans and the audience had mixed reactions to it.

Zoya Akhtar confessed that she is anxious about the movie’s shoot, which is now underway, due to the global appeal of the characters.  “I’m currently shooting The Archies as a feature film, and that hopefully will be out next year. The characters are iconic and globally loved, which is also why I am a little nervous. I have to make sure the film stokes the nostalgia of a generation that grew up on the comic, and yet resonates with young adults today,” the director informed.

Shah Rukh Khan also posted a touching statement welcoming his daughter to the world of acting as The Archies’ formal announcement swept over social media.
