Sharmila Tagore on her time at Gulmohar: On set, I felt like a rookie

Sharmila Tagore is one of the most well-known, well-liked, and timeless actors of all time. She is poised to return to cinema after a decade and will act in Gulmohar, with Manoj Bajpayee and Amol Palekar, as well as Suraj Sharma and Simran Rishi Bagga in crucial parts. Tagore was last seen in Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan’s 2010 movie Break Ke Baad. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, the actress discussed her role in the movie Gulmohar.

She described herself as a novice on the set of the film, bringing her own perspective to the character. She went on to say that working on a film with no pressure was enjoyable. “It was something different from my life now. It was liberating, more like a wonderful holiday. That’s also because it is not my life anymore. My life right now is completely different. I’m not a working person anymore. I’m not going every day like everybody else to work, from one film to another. I worked in the film and now, I have gone back to my own life,” she added.

Sharmila Tagore revealed that Soha Ali Khan’s daughter Inaaya had previously praised him on the film’s message, while Taimur and Jeh are currently prohibited from attending cinemas. She did say, though, that she expects things to be different when they see her onscreen. “Sara and Ibrahim and grown-up. They will watch and better like it,” she concluded.

Gulmohar, helmed by Rahul Chittella, is set to premiere on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar in August 2022. It follows the multi-generational Batra family as they prepare to leave their 34-year-old family home.
