The film Baiju Bawra has been regularly in news. This was for multiple reasons. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had finalized the star cast as well. Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt have been roped in for key roles. However, the collaboration did not work out.
Ranbir Kapoor backed out of the project. Reportedly, he did not have a pleasant experience of working with Bhansali. Ranbir Kapoor worked in SLB’s “Saawariya”. The actor was not convinced that the script of “Baiju Bawra” will appeal to today’s generation. Hence Ranbir backed out and has been replaced with Ranveer Singh.
Thereafter, it was Deepika Padukone who is not part of the film now. Reportedly, there were remuneration issues. However, other sources claim that “Deepika already has her multiple commitments. Therefore, unable to provide dates as per SLB’s requirement. In the meantime, Deepika would like to try out the different genres and different pairings as well.
While Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh are now a part of the project, Deepika’s replacement is yet to be announced.
