Coronavirus cases have been on a surge for the past week across the country. The release dates of several movies were pushed and they have started to release in theatres. The movie ‘Sooryavanshi’ starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif has also been waiting to release for over a year now. After a long wait, the filmmakers announced that the film will hit the theatres on April 30.

A source revealed, “With the suspension of night shows due to night curfews in cities like Mumbai and an atmosphere of uncertainty, it’s a huge risk for a big-budget film to release in theatres at this point. Given people’s safety concerns, the film is unlikely to release on April 30.”

Besides, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’, Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Thalaivi’ will also hit the screens next month. Both movies were scheduled to release in 2020. The release dates of both the movies were being postponed due to the Covid-19 restrictions. ‘Thalaivi’ is all set to hit the theatres on April 23. But it seems that the makers will have to push the release date.
