Salman Khan has returned to playback singing with Teri Sexy Beauty, the fifth song from his upcoming film Maatrubhumi. Released on Wednesday, 4 November, on the Salman Khan Films Music YouTube channel, the track ends an 11-year gap in his singing career.
The video pairs Khan with Chitrangda Singh, who plays his wife in the film. It is their first on-screen pairing. The song begins with Khan in a recording booth before moving through an aeroplane hangar and a dance-floor sequence; Singh appears in a red sari and later in an air-hostess setting with background dancers. Written and composed by Sajid Khan, the track’s female vocals are sung by Muskaan.
An 11-year gap closes
Khan’s playback appearances have been rare. His most recent release was Main Hoon Hero Tera from the 2015 film Hero. Before that, he sang Hangover in the 2014 blockbuster Kick. The new song’s playful lyric casts him as a man captivated by a woman’s beauty, and the video leans into that tone.
The campaign is ahead of the cinema date
Teri Sexy Beauty is now the fifth song to be released from Maatrubhumi while the film itself remains undated. The soundtrack so far includes:
- The title track, composed by Himesh Reshammiya and sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh
- Main Hoon, composed and sung by Ayaan Lall, with Ghoshal
- Chand Dekh Lena, featuring Nihal Tauro and Ankona Mukherjee
- Jai Hind, sung by Stebin Ben and released last month
- Teri Sexy Beauty, written and composed by Sajid Khan with Salman Khan and Muskaan on vocals
Produced by Salman Khan Films, Maatrubhumi was first announced as Battle of Galwan and draws on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. It was later renamed Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. Reports indicate that portions were reshot to add a stronger family-drama thread, after concerns about the portrayal of the India-China conflict.
Why the return matters
Khan’s return is more significant as a visibility move than as a musical shift. His previous playback songs accompanied films that made it to release, which made this 11-year wait an event in itself. With Maatrubhumi still awaiting a date, a Salman Khan vocal carries more attention than another routine album release.
What comes next
The film’s path to cinemas still runs through the Central Board of Film Certification. It was originally scheduled for April 2026, but no revised date has been announced. Until a screening date is set, fans can read Teri Sexy Beauty as an early signal of the film’s tone rather than as proof that release is imminent.
