Drishyam 3 nears ₹529 cr worldwide gross after Day 16

Day 16 brought a 61.3% Saturday jump and ₹5 crore India net for Ajay Devgn's thriller, lifting its worldwide gross to ₹528.77 crore.

Drishyam 3 nears ₹529 crore worldwide gross

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion steadied itself on its third Saturday, adding an estimated ₹5 crore in India net and taking the film within touching distance of ₹529 crore in worldwide gross.

The third Saturday rebound

According to Sacnilk data cited by News18, the film played across 4,137 shows on Saturday, October 17, recording a 61.3% jump from Friday’s ₹3.10 crore. The India net total now stands at ₹341.10 crore, while the worldwide gross has reached ₹528.77 crore, including ₹120 crore from overseas markets.

The recovery matters because Friday had been reported as the film’s lowest day yet. A sharp Saturday lift suggests that audiences are still treating Drishyam 3 as a weekend title rather than letting the third-weekend slide begin.

How the day looked inside cinemas

  • Occupancy: 35.52% overall, with night shows leading at 42.15%.
  • Evening shows: 35.31% occupancy.
  • Footfalls: 224,413 on Day 16, taking total admissions past 1.45 crore.

Those numbers are consistent with a film that is still finding primetime audiences, even as weekday demand cools. For exhibitors, the night-show strength is a signal about where the remaining demand sits.

What the numbers signal

An overall 35.52% occupancy across 4,137 shows is not a blockbuster-level figure in isolation, but the 61.3% day-on-day rise is the number that matters. It says the film’s core audience is still treating a Saturday ticket as an event, and that Friday’s low was not the start of a steep fade. For trade watchers, that kind of hold is the difference between a successful third week and a rapid exit from screens.

Not a remake, but a conclusion

The Hindi film is not a straight remake of Mohanlal’s upcoming Malayalam Drishyam 3. Both films continue the franchise, but the Hindi version follows an original story centred on Vijay Salgaonkar, played again by Ajay Devgn. The ensemble also includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav.

News18 Showsha’s 3-star review called the film a “gripping and fast-paced thriller” and credited the performances, while noting that it sticks closely to the Drishyam formula rather than delivering a grand conclusion. That familiarity has not stopped the box office, but it frames how critics and audiences have read the finale differently.

For Hindi cinema, the Drishyam series has become a rare modern franchise built on a middle-class protagonist’s cat-and-mouse story rather than spectacle. The third part’s ability to hold at this level shows the brand still commands footfalls, even when the critical response has been measured.

The immediate test is Sunday’s hold. If the third Saturday’s momentum carries through the rest of the weekend, Drishyam 3 will enter its fourth week with a clear path beyond the ₹529-crore mark and a stronger case as a durable Hindi thriller.
