What are the Big 3 in anime?

Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece are the three most popular and long-running anime series. One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach were known as the ‘Big 3’ during Jump’s heyday in the mid-2000s. Because of their tremendous worldwide popularity and duration, they were given the moniker ‘The Big 3.’ As a result, they were always featured in front of the shared Shonen Jump covers, and their primary heroes, Luffy, Naruto, and Ichigo, always had larger graphics.

As of June 2021, each of these three mangas has a long-running anime series: Bleach has 366 episodes, Naruto (+Shippuden) has 720 episodes, and One Piece has 979 episodes. The term “boy anime” is derived from the Japanese word “boy,” and it refers to any anime intended for adolescent or younger boys. Despite the name’s reference to a specific demographic, shounen anime appears to appeal to people of all ages and genders.

This popularity is due to the fast-paced action, touching moments of friendship, and cool-looking fight scenes. The ‘Big Three’ were the most popular shounen manga/anime series in anime fan communities, and they were impossible to avoid, especially in anime fan circles. JYP Entertainment’s market value was 1.35 trillion KRW (1.2 billion USD) in 2021, YG Entertainment was 834 billion KRW (754.6 million USD), and SM’s was 759.8 billion KRW (687.5 million USD).
