Was Kurbaan (1991) a big hit?

Kurbaan is a Hindi-language film starring Salman Khan and Ayesha Jhulka, directed by Deepak Bahry. Ayesha Jhulka made her cinematic debut in this picture, which was released on May 31, 1991.

This was Salman Khan’s fifth consecutive box office success. Maine Pyar Kiya, Sanam Bewafa, Baaghi, and Patthar Phool were all box office hits previously. The film was supposed to come out right after Maine Pyar Kiya. Sanam Bewafa and Patthar Phool, on the other hand, had more faith in Salman Khan than the rest of his flicks. As a result, Salman Khan refused to give a release date for Kurbaan.

It’s a romantic drama set against a violent setting. Sunil Dutt and Kabir Bedi, who played a dacoit and a senior cop, were pitted against each other in the film. Their children fall in love with one other, resulting in a dramatic second showdown between the two titans, set against the backdrop of the young lovers’ struggle to love despite all odds.

This was Salman Khan’s first and only collaboration with Ayesha Jhulka. After the phenomenal success of Qayamat to Qayamat, Deepak Bahry offered Juhi Chawla the role of lead heroine in Kurbaan. But she declined, stating that she did not want to work with any newcomers.
