Tiger Shroff Firing: 3 Held in Kota, Bishnoi Link Probed

The firing on Tiger Shroff's car in Juhu has led to three arrests in Kota and a wider probe into a possible Lawrence Bishnoi gang link.

Three held after firing on Tiger Shroff's car

The firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Juhu has moved from a frightening close call to a multi-state investigation after three suspects were arrested in Kota, Rajasthan. Mumbai Police have transferred the matter to the Crime Branch, with a media briefing scheduled for Monday evening.

How the trail reached Kota

Shroff was returning from a Sunday evening football game when five rounds were fired at his car. He escaped gunshot wounds but reportedly suffered minor gunpowder burns to his hand; his driver and an autorickshaw driver were also injured.

Investigators quickly focused on CCTV footage from Andheri West railway station, where the suspects were seen around 7:06 p.m. Police say the motorcycle used in the attack was abandoned outside the station and later seized for examination of its registration, number plate, chassis and engine details.

Mumbai Police shared the material with Kota Police. A senior Kota officer said the suspects were detained within 15 minutes of receiving information from Mumbai. One accused was picked up near Railway Colony, and reports say one is from Bihar.

The Bishnoi question

The arrests have brought the Lawrence Bishnoi gang under scrutiny, but the line between claim and evidence remains open. A social media post purporting to claim responsibility has circulated; its authenticity is not verified. Police have separately alleged that an aide of Bishnoi ordered the shooting, while an audio clip attributed to a man identifying himself as a gang aide reportedly threatened people associated with Salman Khan.

For investigators, the task is to establish whether those claims connect to the Juhu firing. That means identifying each accused person’s role, the planning, and any direction or financing behind the attack.

  • Three suspects were held in Kota after Mumbai Police shared CCTV and vehicle leads.
  • Five rounds were fired at Shroff’s car; the actor had minor gunpowder burns.
  • Industry bodies including AICWA and FWICE have demanded stronger protection for film professionals.

Why this matters for Hindi cinema

The shooting has renewed an uncomfortable conversation about the security of Bollywood personalities. Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said police had identified suspects and would pursue alleged masterminds even outside the state or abroad. Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde visited the family, noting that Shroff had no known previous disputes, while his mother Ayesha Shroff responded to questions with “God is great.”

The next stage is narrower but harder: establish the evidence linking the accused to the firing, test the purported gang claims, and determine whether the attack was part of a larger criminal plan. Until then, the arrests mark a breakthrough in tracing alleged shooters from Mumbai to Rajasthan.
