When I had first read the script, I instantly fell in love with Kshitij’s character. It is his uninhibitedness with the quintessential Delhi wala tadka that makes him fun and enjoyable however what actually roped me in, was the heart of the character. Beneath the dramatic, carefree attitude is a big sensitive heart. Kshitij loves his friends with an unconditional loyalty that is something I can personally relate to and of course underneath the “dil phek ashiq’ image and funny dialogues is a broken heart, we get to see glimpses of, every now and then.
Whereas the cast and crew is concerned, I had an absolutely amazing time working with just about everyone on set and as it is typical for the digital content industry in India at this point, we had to work with time and budget constraints, forcing us to push our limits and work for long, tiring hours. As a result of which, during the shoot we have built memories and real friendships that will last us a lifetime. All in all, Pyar Ishq Rent, it is a young, fun filled series which threads over some real relationship dynamics, which makes for some sweet situational comedy.
Director & Producer Tanya Malik says
For me Kshitij was the heart of the series and I was looking for someone who would do justice to the layers of this character. Saurabh, naturally has the uninhibited yet loving juvenility combined with a sense of reliability, hence Saurabh and Kshitij was a hand in glove situation for me.
