Reshma Pasupuleti known for her role of Pushpa in the movie Velainu Vandhutta VellaiKaaran is the daughter of renowned film producer Parasd Pasupileti. Being born in a family of such revered filmmaker it would be easy to assume that Reshma’s success is a by-product of nepotism however, that is not the case with her. Reshma’s family was not really pleased with her career choice but neither did they stop her from chasing after her dreams. Reshma diligently perused her education in the USA and returned back to India.
The wheels of fate turned and the destiny came seeking her; it was the night of 1996 and women did not have much freedom in that period as they have today but the dauntless actress refused to be confined societal norms went out to a pub with few of her friends. A news reporter who happened to be in the same pub that night met her and was keen on doing a story on her. The reporter persuaded her for an interview and when the channel head saw the footage, she was impressed by Reshma’s communication skills and offered her the job of a news reader. This job gave her the visibility she needed to be sighted by one of the creative heads of Gemini TV to cast her for their upcoming TV series. Without any prior training in acting when the artist reached the set on her first day, she was profusely humiliated by the director for her poor acting skill. It was undoubtedly a hard time in the actress’ career, every day reprimands at work broke her down terribly but the fire in her bones did not let her give up. Propelled by the will to prove her competence Reshma dedicated her all in crafting her acting skills to perfection. The seeds of her handwork soon bear the fruit of ‘Upcoming Star’ Award. The wheels of destiny spun yet again and Reshma got intel about an audition for a movie. The actress nailed the auditions impeccably and bagged a role in Laxman Kumar directed film ‘Masala Padam’.
The years of struggle and hard work has now given ground to Reshma to firmly plant her roots in the industry and it’s because of that spirit she can be fairly termed as a self-made woman. Currently, the artist has exciting projects lined up with renowned directors like Ezhil and Sarath Mandava.
