Ravi Kishan’s Mera Yaar Bajrangi gets Diwali 2027 date

Mahaveer Jain Films unveils the title and first poster of Ravi Kishan's devotional drama, set for a Diwali 2027 theatrical release.

Mera Yaar Bajrangi gets a Diwali 2027 theatrical release

Mahaveer Jain Films has made its next devotional project official. The production house announced the title Mera Yaar Bajrangi – Dosti Ho Toh Aisi, with Ravi Kishan in the lead, and set a theatrical release for Diwali 2027. Amit Aarryan has written the script and will direct; Mahaveer Jain Film presents, and Mahaveer Jain Films produces in association with Ratpack Stories.

What the first poster promises

The reveal image is built around a single idea: a divine fist bump. One hand belongs to a common man wearing a rudraksha and raksha sutra; the other belongs to Bajrang Bali, adorned with a Shri Ram naam patka and rudraksha mala. A spark connects the two, and the visual doubles as an explanation of the tagline, “Dosti Ho Toh Aisi.”

A source close to the project told Bollywood Hungama that the film is “not a religious film” in the conventional sense, but about “the relationship between a Bhakt and Bhagwan.” The pitch is friendship with the divine, not a retelling of scripture.

Where it sits in the faith-film wave

The announcement arrives after a run of films that have turned devotion into theatrical currency:

  • OMG Oh My God (2012), which used satire to question blind faith;
  • Kantara (2022), which rooted belief in land, ritual and community;
  • Hanuman Ansh (2026), a recent devotional release that rode audience enthusiasm.

Mera Yaar Bajrangi is being positioned differently. Rather than scale or satire, the makers are foregrounding a bhola-bhala common man from the heartland who finds a friend in Bajrang Bali. Ravi Kishan, after a strong run across OTT and theatrical releases, is promised in a fresh on-screen avatar.

Why the early date matters

By announcing a Diwali 2027 release now, Mahaveer Jain Films is treating the title as a long-lead event. The poster and tagline become the first retention hooks, and the festival window gives the story a broad, family-driven theatrical moment. For an audience that follows Hindi cinema closely, the key signal is the kind of film on offer: relationship-led faith drama, not mythological spectacle.

That choice also puts pressure on the material. Once the novelty of the poster fades, the film will live or die on whether the friendship holds as drama. For now, the title is the message: it names the relationship before the deity.

The announcement is limited to the title, the poster, the principal actor, the writer-director and the release date. What is clear is that the producers are betting on the emotional core—a common man’s friendship with his God—to carry early interest.
