Nine days before its November 4 North American premiere, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has collected $631.7K in advance gross in the United States from 28.6K tickets across 641 tracked locations and 1,820 shows, according to Koimoi. The star film, led by Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, arrives a day before its November 5 Diwali release.
A narrow gross gap, a wider footprint
At the same distance from release, Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, had $686K in advance gross from 42.8K tickets. It was playing across 584 tracked locations and 1,129 shows.
Put side by side, the two titles reveal different release strategies:
- Ramayana is running at an average ticket price of $22.06, helped by IMAX 3D, 4DX and Dolby Cinema.
- Dhurandhar 2 at the same checkpoint had an average ticket price of $15.99.
- Ramayana has about 691 more shows and 57 more locations, yet trails by roughly 14.6K tickets and $54.2K in gross.
Why premium formats are keeping the race close
An advance sale is not only money in the bank; it is a map of which audiences have committed early. A title that sells expensive formats first has a different demand profile from one that fills standard screens, and that is exactly the split here. Ramayana’s wider footprint and premium-heavy mix allow it to stay within striking distance on gross even before lower-priced standard shows fill in.
Dhurandhar 2’s early ticket volume was stronger, but each ticket was worth less. That compressed its gross advantage to $54.2K despite the 14.6K-ticket lead.
What to watch in the final days
The honest reading of these numbers is not gross alone, and not tickets alone. Our readers should track three figures together: gross, ticket volume and average ticket price. Gross flatters a premium-priced release; tickets flatter a mass-priced one.
With nine days left, the next test is whether standard screens lift Ramayana’s volume enough to overtake Dhurandhar 2’s benchmark, or whether its premium-heavy start remains dependent on expensive formats. Neither outcome is settled yet.
