The uncertainty around the Ramayana: Part One release date has ended. On Sunday, the makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part adaptation announced that the film will open in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026, across premium formats. The announcement was timed to Sharad Navratri, and the producers said advance bookings will begin on October 20, 2026, which marks Dussehra.
A festive booking window
The calendar gives the film a substantial gap between bookings and release. Opening reservations on Dussehra gives the campaign more than two weeks to convert festive family interest into booked seats. The announcement used the occasion to frame the film as the start of a new chapter, with the line “Yeh Ram ke Yug ka Aarambh hai.”
For Hindi cinema followers, the practical move is to set a reminder for October 20. Premium formats tend to fill early for an event release of this scale, and the booking window is the clearest signal yet that the producers expect demand to begin well before the opening weekend.
One global date replaces an earlier split plan
Producer Namit Malhotra had earlier indicated that India would get a Diwali release while the international opening would fall on November 6, because overseas distribution works from a Friday. The final plan folds both into one worldwide date on November 5, simplifying the global campaign and giving audiences a single opening day to plan around.
The ensemble and what follows
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Yash as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Sita. The wider cast includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Lara Dutta as Queen Kaikeyi, Arun Govil as Dasharath, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Ravi Dubey as Laxman and Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva.
- Release date: November 5, 2026, worldwide across premium formats.
- Advance bookings: October 20, 2026, on Dussehra.
- Central cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi.
- Franchise plan: Part Two is scheduled before Diwali next year.
The first instalment now occupies the festive corridor it was always expected to claim, with a booking date that turns Dussehra into the campaign’s opening event.
