Sonali Bendre has shared a deeply personal anecdote about Salman Khan that has left fans emotional. While speaking with ANI, the actress opened up about how her equation with Salman changed drastically during one of the most difficult times in her life — her cancer treatment in New York.
Though the two worked together in Hum Saath Saath Hain, Sonali admitted their on-set bond wasn’t particularly close. In fact, Salman’s playful antics — like pulling faces behind the camera — used to irk her. But years later, she saw a completely different side of the actor.
“Salman is extreme in everything — even his concern,” she revealed. During her treatment, Salman personally called her husband Goldie Behl multiple times and even flew to New York twice just to check if they had the right doctors. “He shared contacts, made suggestions, and was emotionally invested in my recovery,” she said.
Calling him “like an elder from the industry,” Sonali said she was touched by how much effort he put in. “Once he was satisfied with the treatment plan, he stepped back. But his care showed me the deeply sensitive person he really is.”
While Salman continues to line up new film projects, including an action flick with Sanjay Dutt and a cameo in the Saudi film 7 Dogs, Sonali hasn’t announced her next move yet — but their off-screen bond has certainly touched a chord with fans.
