In its seventh weekend, the movie Pushpa [Hindi] has entered the 100 Crore Club. This is the first-ever film in history to start at 3.33 crores and then go on to hit a century. Prior to this, the record for a 100 Crore Club earner with the lowest ever opening day was also held by a dubbed south film. Then too, history was created, as Baahubali: The Beginning started at 5.15 crores. Thereafter the film went on to score a century, and go on with 117 crores as its lifetime run.
Besides, the Allu Arjun-Rashmika Mandanna starrer ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ is still dominating the box office. The Hindi version of the Telugu action-thriller has finally entered the 100 crore club. The movie earned the mark in its seventh weekend.
Pushpa (Hindi) is the fourth dubbed South Indian film to achieve this milestone
With this accomplishment, ‘Pushpa’ has become the fourth Hindi dubbed south film to enter the club. Earlier, this milestone was achieved by Prabhas starrer ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ and Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer ‘2.0’. In the case of Pushpa [Hindi], the journey is all the more remarkable since it has managed to achieve this feat during the pandemic when there is a closure of cinemas, restrictions, curbs, and general fear factor. Still, the movie has managed to reach this milestone is a praiseworthy aspect.
Until now, considering the total box office collection, the movie has collected over Rs 350 crores. The action drama has received appreciation from fans as well as critics. Written and directed by Sukumar, ‘Pushpa’ also stars Fahadh Faasil and others along with Rashmika Mandanna and Allu-Arjun. The movie follows the story of Pushpa Raj, a lorry driver in the Seshachalam forests of South India. The location is set in the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling. It was reportedly hard to convince Samantha Ruth Prabhu to feature in dance number Oo Antava in Pushpa. However, the actress danced like there’s no tomorrow and her performance is quite impressive.
