As Punjab faces one of the most devastating floods in recent history, a wave of solidarity has emerged from both Punjabi and Bollywood celebrities who have come forward with meaningful gestures and active on-ground support to aid the affected communities.
In a notable act of compassion, internationally acclaimed singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has adopted ten of the most severely impacted villages in the districts of Gurdaspur and Amritsar. Taking to social media, Virk expressed his deep sorrow over the destruction and emphasized that his efforts go beyond providing shelter—they aim to restore hope, dignity, and strength for families to rebuild their lives.
Veteran Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has also pledged comprehensive assistance to the flood victims, recalling the strong bond his late father, Sunil Dutt, shared with Punjab. Meanwhile, actress Sonam Bajwa has been actively raising awareness and encouraging public participation in relief efforts through her social media platforms.
Popular singer Guru Randhawa has been distributing essential supplies such as food and drinking water in the worst-hit areas. Singer-lyricist Karan Aujla has mobilized teams across Punjab, providing much-needed food, clothing, medicines, and other necessities to victims on the ground.
Actor Randeep Hooda traveled to Gurdaspur to personally join relief operations alongside the Global Sikhs Foundation, describing the scenes as “heartbreaking” and urging citizens across India to come forward and assist the affected communities.
Adding their voices of support, comedian Kapil Sharma and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan have extended heartfelt messages and prayers, emphasizing the importance of unity and resilience during this crisis.
Together, these celebrities are sending a powerful message of hope and solidarity: In this time of adversity, Punjab will not be left behind.
