Shehnaaz Gill, Diljit Dosanjh, and Sonam Bajwa’s comedy film ‘Honsla Rakh’ – released on October 15. The movie has already broken all Box Office records. It has become the highest opening Punjabi film ever. While the movie grossed the collection of Rs 2.55 crore net all over India, it achieved Rs 5.05 crore across the world.
Consequent to this phenomenon’s success, Diljit wrote a gratitude note for his fans. Taking to Instagram, Diljit shared a poster of the movie,. The Punjabi actor revealed that ‘Honsla Rakh’ collected Rs 5.05 crore worldwide on its opening day. Alongside the poster, the singer-actor wrote, “#HonslaRakh AH CHAKK.. Shatters All PUNJABI Film OPENING DAY RECORDS RECORD SHECOD BANA SHADEYA JE. Ki Paye Karende Hon.. ENJOY WITH YOUR FAMILY FOLKS.”
Reportedly, the movie Honsla Rakh collected Rs 66 lakh net in Delhi/UP. This amount is around 90% more than what has been seen for a Punjabi film. Such collections were not achieved for the films released before the pandemic.
Furthermore, the Punjabi movie Honsla Rakh has beaten all Hindi films in terms of worldwide collections. The film collected a little over Rs 2 crore in overseas markets, thereby making it a Rs 5.05 crore gross worldwide.
The movie Honsla Rakh marks Shehnaaz Gill’s comeback to Punjabi films. This Amarjit Singh Saron directorial also marks Diljit’s debut as a producer.
Shehnaaz Gill gained popularity with her stint on Bigg Boss 13. She has however kept away from social media and the limelight since the untimely demise of Sidharth Shukla. As per sources, they were going to get married in December this year.
Sidharth Shukla caught the viewers’ attention since his role in “Balika Vadhu”. He rose to unmatched popularity after winning the trophy of Bigg Boss 13. It was in the house of Bigg Boss where he met Shehnaaz.
Reportedly, Sidharth Shukla breathed his last in the lap of his lady love. He suffered a massive heart attack, leading to his death at the age of 40. After this tragic incident, Shehnaaz has stayed away from the public eye. Only recently, upon motivation from the entire team of “Honsla Rakh”, Shehnaaz shot for the promo video.
