Plot: A runaway girl, three best friends, an aspiring director, a star and three criminal’s paths cross due to an incident. Will they come off better for it or worse?
Story: Hilarious, funny, and full of twists and turns, Velle is an amazing comic tale of four friends and their homemade scheme gone wrong.
The film opens with Abhay Deol as Rishi Singh, a filmmaker narrating his story to a popular actress Rohini (Mouni Roy). The tale chronicles 3 knuckleheads and backbenchers with nothing on their minds – the infamous R3 gang – Rahul (Karan), Rambo (Savant Singh Premi), and Raju (Visshesh Tiwari).
R3 befriends another trouble maker, Riya (Anya) who is the daughter of their principal but she is nothing but rebellious and wants to break free.
Riya urges the R3 gang to kidnap her and demand ransom from her father (Zakir Hussain), the plan goes off smoothly, until a group of goons actually kidnap Riya. And then the movie turns upside down and one can’t help but laugh at the tricky situations and their solutions.
Review: The film is hilarious and doesn’t get preachy or high on emotion, the core strength of the movie is an error of comedy and it holds its ground.
The cast Zakir Hussain, Rajesh Kumar, and Abhay Deol hold their ground and deliver a stunning performance. But it’s Karan Deol who steals the show. The laid-back dude avatar is picture-perfect.
The film is a remake of the hit Telugu drama Brochevarevarura, and does justice to the original but shines as an independent movie as well. The film offers 6 tracks, which are already popular among fans. The music is composed by Rochak Kohli, Jasleen Royal, JAM8, and Yug Bhusal.
It’s a family entertainer and worth the watch!
