IIFA 2027 to stream live on YouTube from Abu Dhabi

IIFA returns to Abu Dhabi on January 22-23, 2027 with Salman, Kareena and Shahid performing, and a first global YouTube livestream.

IIFA 2027 brings first global YouTube livestream to Abu Dhabi

Hindi cinema’s travelling awards franchise has set its next date. The 27th International Indian Film Academy Weekend & Awards will be held at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, on January 22 and 23, 2027, following an announcement at a Mumbai press conference on October 22.

The main night will lean on both established stars and the current generation. The organisers named Salman Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Nora Fatehi as performers. Karan Johar will host the IIFA Awards, joined by Varun Dhawan, Maniesh Paul and Ananya Panday.

  • Main-night performers: Salman Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Nora Fatehi.
  • Awards hosts: Karan Johar with Varun Dhawan, Maniesh Paul, Ananya Panday.
  • Digital Awards: Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Abhishek Banerjee host; Himesh Reshammiya and Sunidhi Chauhan perform.

The digital stage

The parallel IIFA Digital Awards gives the weekend a second ceremony, and its own hosts and performers suggest the franchise is treating streaming as a co-equal track rather than an afterthought. Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Abhishek Banerjee will anchor that leg, with Himesh Reshammiya and Sunidhi Chauhan scheduled to perform.

A distribution shift worth watching

The sharper announcement is YouTube’s arrival as official streaming partner. The organisers say IIFA 2027 will carry its first global livestream on the platform, along with IIFA Unfiltered, a companion offering. ZEE will continue as the broadcast partner, reaching viewers in more than 120 countries. Sobha Realty extends its presenting sponsorship into a fourth year, and ORN joins as a co-powered-by sponsor.

That arrangement matters for Hindi cinema because IIFA has long been as much a touring showcase as an awards night. A direct YouTube stream weakens dependence on a single broadcaster’s schedule and gives the performances an immediate digital aftermarket — a change that affects how the show is produced and sponsored.

For an awards night that has historically moved between host cities, Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena gives IIFA a known operational base. The bigger shift is in viewing habits: a generation that discovers its stars on short video can now watch the ceremony without a satellite subscription or a regional broadcast window.

The line-up is also a balancing act: Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor bring marquee recognition, while Rashmika Mandanna and Janhvi Kapoor speak to a younger moviegoing cohort. That blend gives both broadcast and digital clips something to sell beyond the trophies themselves.

For fans planning ahead

Main IIFA Awards tickets are already available through the Etihad Arena website. Tickets for the IIFA Digital Awards go on sale on Friday, October 23, 2026. The real marker for 2027 will be whether a streaming-first audience engages with the full two-day event, not only the performance clips.
