Which Hollywood actor told an abusive word about Donald Trump?

On June 10, 2018, the actor Robert De Niro received a standing ovation at the Tony Awards in New York for his attack on President Donald Trump. “I’m going to say one thing,” De Niro said on stage at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. Trump is a jerk.”

Robert Anthony De Niro Jr., an American actor, producer, and director, was born on August 17, 1943. He is best recognized for his nine collaborations with filmmaker Martin Scorsese, for which he won two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. In 2009, De Niro was awarded the Kennedy Center Honor, and in 2016, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by US President Barack Obama.

De Niro studied acting at HB Studio, Stella Adler Conservatory, and Lee Strasberg’s Actors Studio in New York City, where he was born. His first major appearance was in Greetings (1968), and he rose to prominence in the sports drama Bang the Drum Slowly as a baseball player (1973). Mean Streets (1973), in which he played small-time crook ‘Johnny Boy,’ was his first work with Scorsese.

He’s also renowned for his parts in the comedies Wag the Dog (1997), Analyze This (1999), and Meet the Parents (2000). He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal in David O. Russell’s 2012 romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook, after acting in several critically derided and commercially failed films.

In 1989, De Niro and producer Jane Rosenthal created TriBeCa Productions, a film and television production firm that has produced various projects in addition to his own. In 2002, he co-founded the Tribeca Film Festival with Rosenthal. The Library of Congress has entered six of De Niro’s films into the United States National Film Registry as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically important.”
