Is ‘The School for Good and Evil’ movie out?

Paul Feig’s upcoming young adult fantasy picture The School for Good and Evil is based on Soman Chainani’s 2013 novel of the same name. The film is produced by Joe Roth, Jeffrey Kirschenbaum, Jane Startz, Laura Fischer, and Feig.

David Magee, Laura Solon, Malia Scotch Marmo, and Chainani wrote the screenplay. It follows Sophie and Agatha, close friends who are kidnapped and sent to the School for Good and Evil. After their fortunes are turned around, they must figure out how to get back home, putting their friendship to the test. In 2022, Netflix will release the film.

Sofia Wylie plays Agatha and Sophia Anne Caruso plays Sophie in The School for Good and Evil. Roth Films teamed up with Jane Startz Productions to secure the film’s rights. The film was originally scheduled to be released by Universal Pictures, but Netflix took over in 2020. Belfast production began in 2021 and ended later that year.

Following the completion of the picture, Feig began editing for at least ten hours a day, with the goal of making the special effects look realistic.
The film was supposed to be released around the holidays in 2017. Chainani confirmed in December 2020 that the film will be released in 2022.

The film is estimated to bring in £30 million for Northern Ireland’s economy. The School for Good and Evil was named one of the most anticipated films of 2022 by Time, and one of the greatest films slated to release in 2022 by Empire. According to Collider and Screen Rant, it is a promising book-to-film adaptation for audiences in 2022. The latter also believed that the film may lead to the creation of ‘Netflix’s own Harry Potter.’
