How is the movie Bruce Almighty?

Steve Koren, Mark O’Keefe, and Steve Oedekerk wrote the screenplay for Bruce Almighty, a 2003 American comedy film directed by Tom Shadyac. The film stars Jim Carrey as Bruce Nolan, a down-on-his-luck television reporter who complains to God (Morgan Freeman) about how he isn’t performing his job properly and is given the opportunity to try being God for a week.

Shadyac and Carrey previously collaborated on Ace Ventura: Pet Detective in 1994 and Liar Liar in 1997, making this their third picture together. Jennifer Aniston, Philip Baker Hall, and Steve Carell feature in the film.

Bruce Almighty debuted to mixed reviews from critics when it was released in American theatres on May 23, 2003, but it was a box-office success, grossing $85.9 million, making it the highest Memorial Day opening weekend of any film in history at the time.

The film stunned critics when it outperformed The Matrix Reloaded the next weekend. The film grossed $242 million domestically and $484 million internationally by the end of its theatrical run, making it Carrey’s highest-grossing film worldwide and the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2003.

On June 22, 2007, Shadyac and Oedekerk returned to film and write Evan Almighty, a spin-off sequel centering on Steve Carell’s character, with Freeman repeating his part. ‘God Tussi Great Ho,’ starring Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Amitabh Bachchan, is an adaptation of Jim Carrey and Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Bruce Almighty.’ The original picture received widespread acclaim and remains one of Hollywood’s most popular films.
