Pawandeep Rajan received the highest votes, while Arunita Kanjilal was in second, position. The grand finale of Indian Idol 12 was held on August 15, 2021. The 12-hour long episode featured the finale contestants, judges, hosts, and some of Bollywood’s personalities entertaining the audience. While the results were announced at midnight, at the end of the show.
Throughout the season, Arunita and Pawandeep have been close friends. Their duets have been so well received that the producers decided to construct a love story out of it to capitalize on their fame.
Pawandeep belongs to the Champawat district of Uttarakhand. He hails from musical family background. While, Arunita hails from Bangaon, West Bengal, and is a semi-classical singer. She performs songs in Bengali and Hindi. She won the Bengali singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Bangla at the age of ten in 2013. She was a contestant on Indian Idol 12 and came in second place. Arunita attended Kumudini Girls High School in Bangaon for her education. She began her musical career when she was four years old. She began learning music from her mother at a very young age, and later began learning from her maternal uncle.
Since 2004, Indian Idol has been aired on Sony Entertainment Television in India as a Hindi-language variation of the Pop Idol program. The show inspired spin-offs such as Indian Idol Junior, which took over for the seventh and eighth seasons of the show. Pawandeep took home the trophy of Indian Idol Season 12 on August 15, 2021.
