Is BTS going to do a collab with Blackpink in 2022?

As we all know, 2021 was one of Blackpink‘s most successful years, with the group releasing more songs than usual, collaborating with some of the world’s most famous musicians, and charting in ways that no other South Korean girl group had ever done before.

Blackpink is already one of the most popular all-female bands on the planet, earned a name for themselves last year as one of the hottest non-solo acts and possibly the world’s most popular girl group.

While Blackpink had an incredible year in 2020, the year 2021 has been almost deafeningly quiet. The band is currently riding high on the success of their debut full-length The Album and the songs that were inspired by the title, and two members have gone solo.

Fans of Blackpink may not have to wait long for new music from the popular K-pop group now that one artist has released information about their next release. Although he just released a new song, Ozuna claimed in an interview on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards that he already has his next single planned, and it would be a collaborative effort with musicians from all genres and corners of the globe.

During the ceremony, the Latin singer, who performed his current single ‘La Funka,’ said that Megan Thee Stallion and Blackpink will reportedly appear on his upcoming album. He didn’t say when it’ll be published, what it’ll be called, or even how it’ll sound, but simply mentioning the South Korean quartet is enough to pique fans’ interest.

If Ozuna’s assertion is true, Stallion will have cooperated with a major personality in South Korean music for the second time. Only a few weeks ago, the rapper teamed up with BTS to reimagine their global smash hit ‘Butter,’ reinvigorating the song and reigniting interest in it. On the Hot 100, the song blasted back to No. 1, giving her her eighth spell in the penthouse.

Blackpink’s most recent song was ‘Lovesick Girls,’ which was the third official promotional cut from The Album. The track was pushed as a single on the day the full-length was released, and it became a small hit in a few locations.
