Cassadee Pope, the former Hey Monday singer, and season three winner is still the most successful ‘The Voice‘ winner, having won in December 2012.
Cassadee Blake Pope, an American pop-punk singer, songwriter, and musician, was born on August 28, 1989. Pope was the lead singer and songwriter for the rock band Hey Monday (which went on hiatus in December 2011), with whom she recorded one studio album and two EPs.
Pope began a solo career in early 2012, and in May of that year, she released the EP Cassadee Pope. On December 18, 2012, she won the third season of The Voice, becoming the first female champion. Frame by Frame, her debut solo country album, debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart on October 8, 2013. With 43,000 copies sold in its first week, it debuted at No. 1 on Top Country Albums.
The Voice is a singing reality competition show that airs on NBC in the United States. It premiered on April 26, 2011, during the spring television season. It has aired twenty-one seasons and is based on the original The Voice of Holland. It tries to identify unsigned singing talent competed by aspiring singers, age 13 and up, recruited from public auditions.
Television viewers vote through phone, internet, SMS text, and iTunes Store sales of the audio-recorded artists’ voice performances to choose the winner. For winning the competition, they will get $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group.
The artists’ performances are critiqued by a panel of four coaches, who then lead their teams of selected artists through the rest of the season. They also compete to guarantee that their act takes first place in the competition, earning them the winning coach.
Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton were on the first panel, and Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Ariana Grande were on the most recent twenty-first season panel. Shakira, Usher, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, and Nick Jonas are among the previous season’s coaches.
Kelsea Ballerini appeared as an off-screen fifth coach for ‘Comeback Stage’ candidates in the fifteenth season. For the sixteenth season, Bebe Rexha took over as the ‘Comeback Stage’ coach.
