‘Daughters of This Soil’ Steal the Spotlight at 61st Femina Miss India Awards Night in Mumbai

Mumbai came alive with glamour and grandeur on April 9, 2026, as the 61st Femina Miss India Awards Night took centre stage. Backed by the Times Group, the iconic Femina Miss India pageant has spent six decades championing young Indian women and this milestone edition was every bit the celebration that legacy deserved.

This year’s theme, “Connecting the DOTS” Daughters of This Soil, put India’s rich diversity front and centre. The journey to the awards night began with a nationwide talent hunt that shortlisted 30 state winners, who are currently undergoing intensive grooming sessions in Mumbai under leading industry experts. The evening served as a grand tribute to their hard work, growth, and individuality.

The night kicked off with a show-stopping ramp walk, as contestants took to the stage in stunning ensembles by designer Anmol Singh of Banjara Trail. Each piece featuring intricate patchwork and handcrafted beadwork offered a fresh, contemporary take on traditional Indian textiles. Directed by Sandeep Dharma and hosted by Pooja Bhamrrah, the showcase effortlessly married fashion with storytelling.

The star power was equally impressive. Anu Malik, Celina Jaitly, Madhur Bhandarkar, Vindu Dara Singh, Terence Lewis, Nehal Chudasama, and Pooja Chopra were among the prominent names in attendance, lending prestige to the evening as they presented awards across various sub-contests.

Contestants were honoured with special subtitles celebrating qualities like intelligence, confidence, fashion sense, and personality. Winners took home accolades and rewards from prominent partners, including KIIT Bhubaneswar and Rajnigandha Pearls; a testament to the pageant’s enduring commitment to excellence and empowerment.

The entertainment kept the energy high, with soulful performances by Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar and high-octane DJ sets by TECHTRONIX and BENJ keeping the audience thoroughly engaged through the night.

With the grand finale set for April 18, 2026, at KIIT Bhubaneswar, excitement is building fast. The eventual winner will carry the Indian flag to the Miss World stage, following in the footsteps of legends like Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, and Manushi Chhillar. Rooted in grace, purpose, and ambition, the 61st Femina Miss India continues to write a powerful new chapter for confident, empowered Indian women.
