Who were the first actors on Law and Order franchise?

The Law & Order franchise began with Law & Order, an American police procedural and legal drama television series developed by Dick Wolf and produced by Wolf Entertainment. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit premiered on September 13, 1990, and ended on May 24, 2010, after a twenty-year run on NBC.

The series is set and filmed in New York City and follows a two-part format: the first half-hour follows detectives from the New York City Police Department investigating a crime (usually murder) and apprehending a suspect; the second half follows the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office prosecuting the defendant. Plots are frequently based on true stories that have recently made headlines, albeit the crime’s motivation and perpetrator may differ.

The original detectives, Sergeant Max Greevey and Detective Mike Logan were played by George Dzundza and Chris Noth in the 1988 pilot. The producers thought Dzundza would make an excellent senior police officer since he was someone they could envision themselves riding in a police cruiser with.

    Law & Order

Law & Order is the longest-running live-action scripted American primetime series, with twenty seasons, second only to its spin-off Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999–present). The success of the series has resulted in the creation of further shows, transforming Law & Order into a brand with a television film, many video games, and international adaptations. Over the years, it has won and been nominated for various honors, including several Emmy Awards.

On May 14, 2010, NBC announced that Law & Order had been canceled, with the final episode airing on May 24, 2010. Wolf endeavored to find a new home for the series immediately after it was canceled. Those efforts failed, and Wolf claimed in July 2010 that the series had now moved to the history books.’

NBC announced on September 28, 2021, that a 21st season had been scheduled, with a premiere date of February 24, 2022.
