BTS and the ARMY both adore Yeontan. V was seen holding his dog, Yeontan, in a few of the images. This was all the proof BTS supporters needed to formally declare Yeontan as the group’s eighth member.
On December 4, 2017, Yeontan made his first appearance at a VLIVE BTS hosted for Jin’s birthday. V arrived in the video’s background and briefly hoisted Yeontan up for spectators to see. V published a video of Yeontan on BTS’s shared Twitter account on December 17, 2017. V formally introduced his puppy to admirers with the tweet. Yeontan has been a regular in BTS videos since his debut appearances.
Yeontan stole the stage in BTS’ documentary Burn the Stage: The Movie while still a puppy. The documentary, which debuted on Nov. 15, 2018, followed the band on the road for their 2017 Wings Tour. Yeontan initially debuted in the film after V adopted him, and when he emerges from a bag, he steals the show.
Yeontan appears to have been the eighth member of BTS for quite some time. In September 2019, ARMY commemorated Yeontan’s birthday in the same way that they commemorate the birthdays of the members. Fans developed birthday crafts for V’s Pomeranian and trended hashtags on Twitter.
