And #1 movie is ‘The Royal Treatment’ on Netflix globally as of January 24, 2022.
The Royal Treatment is a 2022 American romantic comedy film directed by Rick Jacobson and starring Laura Marano as Manhattan hairdresser Izzy, who is hired to work at Prince Thomas’ wedding, played by co-star Mena Massoud. Netflix released the film on January 20, 2022.
Despite receiving mixed reviews from reviewers, the film debuted at number one on Netflix the week it was released.
In February 2021, filming began in Dunedin and Oamaru, New Zealand. 30 actors, 100 extras, and a large film crew were involved in the production. Vogel Street (which served as a stand-in for New York City), the Fable Dunedin Hotel, Larnach Castle, and Olveston Historic Home (the latter two serving as stand-ins for the Lavonia royal residence), the Otago Peninsula, the University of Otago Registry Building, and Oamaru’s Victorian precinct were among the film’s notable locations.
Netflix released the film on January 20, 2022.
