On May 14, 2021, actor Akshay Kumar posted encouraging remarks for a fan who was inspired to master the handstand after seeing him do it. On Twitter, the fan posted a video of his attempt, which was met with praise from Akshay.
Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, better known by his stage name Akshay Kumar, is an Indian-born Canadian actor, film producer, martial artist, and television personality who works in Bollywood, the commercial Hindi language film industry located primarily in Mumbai. He was born on September 9, 1967. Kumar has starred in over 100 films throughout his career and has won numerous prizes, including a National Film Award for Best Actor and two Filmfare Awards.
Kumar is one of Hindi cinema’s most successful and prolific performers. He was the first Bollywood actor whose films’ domestic net lifetime revenues topped $20 billion (US$270 million) by 2013 and $30 billion (US$400 million) by 2016. He acted in 113 films, 52 of which were commercially successful.
Kumar debuted in 1991 with Saugandh, but it was with the action film Khiladi a year later that he had his first mainstream hit. The film launched Kumar’s career as an action star in the 1990s, and it was the first of a series of films starring Kumar that became known as the Khiladi film series, as well as a slew of other action pictures.
Apart from acting, Kumar has also worked as a stuntman, performing numerous perilous stunts in his films, earning him the moniker ‘Indian Jackie Chan.’
He was the host of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2008. Kumar received an honorary doctorate from the University of Windsor in 2008. The Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civil honor, was bestowed upon him by the government in 2009. In 2009, he established the Hari Om Entertainment production business, and in 2012, he established the Grazing Goat Pictures production firm.
