Thomas Stanley Holland is an English actor who was born on June 1, 1996. He began his acting career on the London stage in the title role of Billy Elliot the Musical on the West End theatre from 2008 to 2010. He graduated from the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in London. He then went on to star in The Impossible (2012), for which he won the London Film Critics Circle Award for Young British Actor of the Year. He is 25 now.
Holland rose to international prominence as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began with Captain America: Civil War (2016). Holland was the second-youngest recipient of the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2017, at the age of 20.
He attended Donhead, a Roman Catholic preparatory school in Wimbledon, South West London, until December 2012, when he transferred to Wimbledon College, a voluntary aided Jesuit Roman Catholic comprehensive school.
Holland began dancing in a hip hop lesson at Wimbledon’s Nifty Feet Dance School. He was discovered by choreographer Lynne Page, an associate of Peter Darling, choreographer of Billy Elliot and Billy Elliot the Musical, while dancing with his school group at the 2006 Richmond Dance Festival.
Holland began production on Spider-Man: No Way Home in October 2020 and finished filming at the end of March 2021. He was also cast as a young Nathan Drake in the 2022 film version of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted video game series, which was revealed in May 2017.
