Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next title Gangubai Kathiawadi Alia Bhatt started shooting in the titular role in November last year. The film, released in September last year, was postponed due to the epidemic. The shooting of the film is now about a month left to finish and its chances will increase by March.
Allegedly, the makers struck a deal with the OTT platform, Netflix, before getting into much discussion about the film. As per the reports, the post release streaming rights were awarded to Netflix for around Rs. Have been sold in 70 crores Rs. The paperwork is currently underway. It is said that it is the goodwill of the mega cast and filmmaker who have already secured the deal before the final product is ready.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is known for his lavish storytelling style, will release Gangubai in theaters despite earlier receiving many breathtaking offers from streaming theaters. The film is reportedly set to release after August.
On the other hand, Bhansali will make his digital debut with the Netflix show Diamond market. The filmmaker will direct the first and last two episodes and the rest will be played by Vibhu Puri.
talking about Gangubai, Alia Bhatt is currently training for two dance numbers which she will shoot later this month. The film also stars Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi in an extended cameo role and Huma Qureshi in a special dance number.
